Mahmud y no solo Mahmud tells a true story through words, acrobatics, and live music.
It follows a young Senegalese man who leaves his hometown in search of work in a neighboring country, where a civil war breaks out.
What was supposed to be a relatively simple journey turns into a nightmare due to the consequences of colonialism, the lack of legal pathways for safe mobility—caused by European funding to countries like Niger and Morocco to control migration—labor exploitation, and racism.
