We dream in the language of circus… Trapezi awakens!

May has arrived, and the circus makes its mark on the calendar! The city of Reus opens its doors once again to welcome Trapezi — now celebrating its 29th edition!
At the very heart of Plaça Mercadal rises a great imaginary flagpole, from which banners of joy and hope unfurl: some stretch toward Sant Jordi Park, others to La Palma, to Mas Iglesias and to Parc de la Festa, weaving through iconic corners of the city and the Bartrina and Fortuny theatres. This year, a new space joins the celebration: Sala Santa Llúcia, eagerly preparing to become a warm and welcoming venue for performances.
From where we dream Trapezi, we want to share with all of you a collective effort: to help this festival grow through respect, complicity, and shared joy.
We imagine a city of vibrant circus tents, full of local and international talent, where everyone feels welcomed and valued. We want to turn Reus into a key meeting point for all the players in the field — for those of us who passionately defend circus as the common language that brings us together.
Trapezi is — and we want it to be even more — a space to admire one another, to project ourselves, to tell our stories, to fall in love, to share our passion for circus, and to move forward together in this art form that defines us and helps us believe that a better world is possible.

The poster

The image for Trapezi 2025 is the work of Cèlia Grifoll Constantí, an artist trained in interior design and ephemeral architecture, who develops her activity as a self-taught illustrator. Her style is based on combining manual and digital techniques, with a visual language focused on collage, drawing and textures.
She has been part of institutional and cultural graphic projects, as well as campaigns linked to 25N, 8M or the Lleida Festival, often with a committed view of the social environment and with a clear, accessible and symbolic aesthetic.
For the Trapezi 2025 poster, she has created a scene where an elephant on stilts, a tightrope walker, a juggler and a musician coexist on colorful roofs. An image that evokes the circus universe from a tender and humorous perspective, and that captures the familiar and welcoming tone of the festival.
He currently lives in Lleida, where he combines his professional projects with collaborations in the educational and social fields, developing a visual language that dialogues with everyday life, popular culture and community creativity.
Trapezi
Catalonia Circus Fair
Since 1997, Reus has been hosting Trapezi, the Circus Fair of Catalonia. Year after year, every May, the city fills the streets and theaters with shows that turn the squares of Reus into scenic spaces and transform the city into a large circus ring.
With its own label open to various trends, aesthetics, formats and ways of understanding and experiencing the circus, Trapezi becomes a reference frame for all circus lovers, professionals, programmers and the public, who when the month of May arrives have a reason to meet in the city of Reus.
Trapezi was awarded the National Circus Award in 2012 by the Ministry of Culture. Previously, in 2007, the Generalitat awarded the National Culture Award to the artistic directors of Trapezi, for their contribution to the dignity and development of the circus in Catalonia, both in the artistic aspect and for their impact on the public; for the desire for cultural decentralization and regional dynamism; for being a hub for meeting and exchange, and for having become a benchmark among European festivals.
