Temps Encara Tenim is a stage creation born from the desire to keep moving, to endure—with humour, experience and tenderness—without hiding the wear and tear that time leaves on the bodies on stage.
Two performers begin by following individual paths that unfold in the public space, intervening in it through installation, object manipulation, action and text… They eventually culminate in an encounter—a blind date—between themselves and with the audience, at a specific place and time.
A two-sided stage space hosts this meeting and offers the possibility not only to observe the performers, but also to watch—and be influenced by—the reactions of the audience on the other side. As Juarroz wrote:
“The other side is the greatest contagion.
Even the same eyes change colour
and take on the transparent tone of fables.”
The piece is also driven by a desire to make people laugh and to push the limits of balance—of objects and bodies alike: fragile constructions with barrels, the taming of ladders in precarious equilibrium, solid bodies expressing a paradoxical lightness in movement, and absurd chatter—at once profound and poetic—accompanying the actions.
